Philosophy of Treatment
Psychotherapy is an extremely personalized process, unique to each individual and their situation. I tailor my approach to each client’s specific needs and goals. Creating a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship is the necessary foundation for our work together. To that end, I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore and share their thoughts, feelings and experiences. I commonly draw from the following theoretical orientations/modalities: attachment and psychodynamic theories, mindfulness, CBT & DBT, narrative therapy, positive psychology and humanistic/existential theories. I am also trained in EMDR.
Therapy can be challenging work, but the end result is well worth the effort. My ultimate hope for all my clients is that they develop deeper self-knowledge and compassion, and are able to lead more fulfilling and authentic lives. I consider it a great privilege to accompany clients on this journey.
